July 2021
Carbon Neutral Britain assisted Adam Bourn with calculating our carbon output on a yearly basis, which equated to 26.66 tCO2E.
Our Carbon Negative status has been achieved via the Climate Fund Portfolio of certified carbon reduction projects around the world, where we have made an incredible 53.32 tonne offset of emissions.
Early in 2020, the board of directors agreed that we should join with many other forward thinking companies in tackling climate change. The most practical way of doing this was to look at ourselves in the first instance.
We set ourselves a target of Carbon Neutral by 2030 (CN30 campaign) where we set targets around how we change our working practices without compromising on quality.
Our Carbon Negative status now gives our clients and staff confidence that every graphic and every sign that we produce has no carbon footprint. There is peace of mind that in everything we do, whether that may be travelling to a meeting, shipping signage or installing on site, we have considered the environmental impact of our actions.
May 2021
Adam Bourn Creative Services have teamed up with Carbon Neutral Britain, the UK’s leading carbon offsetting initiative. Founded in 2020, CNB have already offset over 500,000 tonnes of carbon in Britain, planting over 3 million trees. They support businesses of all sizes, as well as domestic clients. The appointment of CNB is an indicator of Adam Bourn’s intention to drive the CN30 campaign alongside a modern, forward thinking partner.
“We found all talks with CNB have been positive, informative and educational throughout. This is an appointment that feels more like welcoming a new family member, rather than a business transaction, which is exactly how we want the CN30 journey to be. We could not be happier with James and his teams engagement with us during our talks.
The concept of CN30 always felt the beginning of something great, but this partnership makes it feel like reality and something we can be very proud of”.

April 2021
In December of 2020, the UK government announced it’s target to reduce the UK’s emissions by at least 68% (compared to 1990 figures) by 2030. In line with this, Adam Bourn Creative Services have been working on a plan to align ourselves with this target and achieve a Carbon Neutral status by 2030, with a wider plan to achieve Net Zero by 2040. We plan to do this by looking within the company to see how we can reduce carbon in-house, both in production and in the office, and also how we tackle the emissions while out on the road and on site. The will be assisted by supporting emission reduction projects around the world.
The following points cover the early stages of our journey into Carbon Neutral:
By reducing waste;
Renewable energy source for powering and heating our HQ;
All company vehicles to become electric powered;
Grey water recycling systems to be installed in-house;
Carbon offset by way of investment in planting trees;
A thorough review of all electric, gas and oil powered plant and equipment, with investment where required;
Implementation of Smart devises to manage lights, thermostats, windows and blinds;
Removal of all single use plastics from tea points;
A review of transport used for commuting for all office staff;
Creating new and inventive ways of renewing product waste from our main products.
With the continual evolution of technology, our plan will change over the course of time as we adapt to new opportunities around us. We find this an exciting prospect and welcome the advances making their way into our everyday working lives. As we learn, we hope to see these practices go home with us as we implement them into home life also.
And for the business in wider terms, we hope to become an even more attractive proposition for our client, both existing and new. Our carbon emission measure can be passed forward to show the proactive approach we, as a sub-contractor, offer to main contractors. Once we hit Carbon Neutral, we will include the certification in tenders and O&M manuals, demonstrating a partnership that is switched on and cares.
As the new adventure begins and we work with our consultants and suppliers, we will post updates regularly here to demonstrate our journey with the hope to help others in theirs.
Carbon Neutral 2030. It starts now.
